🚀 Insight Cloud Release Announcement ðŸš€

We're thrilled to unveil the latest update to Insight Cloud, scheduled for release on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, at 6:00 PM EST. This release brings a host of enhancements, bug fixes, and improvements to elevate your experience with our platform.

Release Summary

Completed a Database Migration

Modernized tech stack by migrating to PSQL. PostgreSQL is considered modern because it incorporates advanced features, supports a wide range of data types, and is adaptable to various application scenarios. Its open-source nature and active community contribute to its ongoing development and improvement. Here are some aspects that make PostgreSQL a modern and widely used database system:

  1. Open Source: PostgreSQL is an open-source project, which means its source code is freely available, and users can contribute to its development. This fosters a collaborative community and allows for continuous improvement.

  2. ACID Compliance: PostgreSQL is ACID (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability) compliant, ensuring the reliability and consistency of transactions. This is a fundamental requirement for many applications, especially those dealing with financial or critical data.

  3. Extensibility: PostgreSQL is highly extensible. It supports a wide range of data types, and you can create custom functions, operators, and aggregates, making it suitable for diverse use cases.

  4. JSON and NoSQL Support: PostgreSQL has robust support for JSON data types and provides functionality for working with JSON data. This makes it suitable for applications that require a mix of structured and semi-structured data.

  5. Concurrency Control: PostgreSQL supports multi-version concurrency control (MVCC), which allows multiple transactions to occur simultaneously without interfering with each other. This is crucial for systems with a high level of concurrent activity.

  6. Scalability: PostgreSQL is designed to scale both vertically and horizontally. It can handle large amounts of data and is suitable for use in various environments, from small-scale applications to enterprise-level systems.

  7. Advanced Indexing: PostgreSQL provides a variety of indexing techniques, including B-tree, hash, GiST, SP-GiST, GIN, and BRIN, allowing developers to optimize queries for different use cases.

  8. Security Features: PostgreSQL has robust security features, including SSL certificates, data encryption, and support for various authentication methods. It also provides role-based access control for fine-grained access management.

  9. Community Support: PostgreSQL has a large and active community that contributes to its development, provides support, and shares knowledge. This community-driven approach ensures ongoing improvement and support for the user base.

  10. SQL Compliance: PostgreSQL follows SQL standards closely and supports a wide range of SQL features. This makes it easy for developers familiar with SQL to work with PostgreSQL.
